Making a Difference

The Hub has selected “Special Care Center” as the main beneficiary of the charities accumulated from the total sales (5%) of the pixels on the million dirham website. A total of 50,000 Dirhams will be awarded to the special care center upon the complete sale of the web page. In other words every single advertiser on The Hub will be giving 5% of their investment to the children that attend the special care center.
The Special Care Centre (SCC) was inaugurated in 1989 under the patronage of HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, wife of HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late President of the UAE. The aim was to provide educational and developmental service to the physically and mentally challenged children. The SCC which started with just 10 children as its beneficiaries now looks after 70 children of various nationalities. The SCC enrolls children with the conditions of Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Delayed Development and Intellectually impairment.

The main aim of the Special Care Centre is to provide comprehensive educational, therapeutic, self-help, social and vocational skills to mentally and physically challenged children. The curriculum has been designed to meet the needs of children with educational sub normalities and slow learners.
“The special care center has a special place in my heart. It moved me greatly as I can relate with my volunteer experience at one of the spcial care centers in Dubai. This place needs attention and support and that is why I have appointed them as the main beneficiary.” – Amer Sharafuddin Sharaf
